By Youthstream | 20 Feb 2010

FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 20 February 2010 – The classic meeting in between Youthstream and the FIM Motocross and SuperMoto World Championship organizers was held yesterday, Friday 19 February, at the Riviera Marriott Hotel La Porte de Monaco, Monte Carlo. FIM/CMS President Dr. Wolfgang Srb also attended the meeting.

In a friendly and cooperative atmosphere, the 2010 Organizers’ Meeting was the occasion for Youthstream and the local Grand Prix organizers to share ideas on developing the FIM Motocross and SuperMoto World Championship series. It was also the occasion to enhance the networking in between the organizers, all set on reaching higher standards in the coming future.

All organizers also had the chance to be informed on the latest FIM Regulations changes directly by FIM/CMS President Dr. Srb.

Giuseppe Luongo, the Youthstream President, stated: “The annual organizers’ meeting went very well and the atmosphere was very positive, I was happy to see the change of generation in the organizers and that everyone understands the importance of working together to reach our common goal of bringing our sport more and more professional and bringing our sport worldwide using modern technology so that Motocross and SuperMoto are brought into all homes around the world.  This meeting is very important to bring us all together and to allow for easy communication, it shows the organizers Youthstream’s policy is to open our sport, not only by having a Women’s Motocross World Championship, but also because Youthstream itself has many women in its management with responsible positions and we see that there are more and more women in the structures of organizers and promoters.  There is a strong feeling from the organizers and promoters of their will to progress with the development of infrastructures and the welcome for the teams, riders and fans, and a general feeling of moving forward and improving.

“We thank Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FIM/CMS President, for attending the meeting and for explaining the recent changes to the FIM Regulations.  We would also like to especially thank the SuperMoto organizers who, despite the economical crisis and the difficulties in financing SuperMoto events, continue to believe and invest in SuperMoto so that it can stay alive and try to make it grow.”

Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FIM/CMS President, added: “The communication with the organizers is very important, on Friday they got the latest news from Youthstream as well as from the FIM/CMS. It is also a perfect occasion to share experience and to talk to many colleagues. I am happy that Youthstream organizes this kind of meeting since many years and that the family gets bigger and bigger!

“It was also good to see that the organizers are all very busy in preparing their events and that they are optimistic and fully motivated. The mission of Youthstream and FIM/CMS to keep the sport affordable, in particular for young riders and families, was welcomed by all.”
