The most popular games with motorcycles

Everyone loves motorcycles, and those who don’t are hypocrites and liars. In this regard, it is puzzling that there are very few video games about these same motorcycles. Therefore, we thought a little and decided to help all fans of the motorcycle theme by offering them the TOP 10 most interesting games that have motorcycles. The only thing worth noting is that we will not talk about 20-year-old masterpieces like Road Rush or Excitebike – with all due respect to these games, and we will not mention Watch Dogs or GTA, but will only touch on representatives of the profile genre, which are not scary will play today.

Ride and Ride 2

Let’s start with one of the best motorcycle games of our time. Moreover, it was decided to take both parts at once, because we don’t take it to decide which one is better, and to be honest, they are very similar to each other, since the difference between the games is only one year. The only, but, in our opinion, important difference is the lack of Russian-language localization in the second part. But, otherwise, everything is licensed here and there is nothing to complain about. The total fleet of motorcycles has more than a hundred units, and their time span includes not only technological modernity, but also the romance of the 90s and even 80s.

GP500

We continue with a small return to the past. Before us is a game already in 1998. But with all this, it continues to be popular today, and, there is an opinion, it will outlive other, younger and more technologically advanced competitors. Fans of the GP500, over the years, have done a bunch of modifications to this game, including improving the graphics, well, as for physics and simulation elements, this dinosaur can give odds to many modern representatives of the genre. Of course, today there is nothing unusual in the game, but if you consider yourself a fan of motorcycle racing, then you also need to get acquainted with the classics.

Trial Fusion

This game is the culminating creation of RedLynx Studio, working under the wing of Ubisoft. The developers managed to make trial-style races unprecedentedly dynamic and dizzying, albeit having little to do with the real laws of physics. Trials Fusion is a motorcycle version of another Ubisoft game called Trackmania Turbo. It will appeal to all fans of mobile 2D platformers like Stickman Downhill and similar two-wheeled, stunt arcade games in which you need to drive the distance not only quickly, but also as beautifully as possible. However, in the circles of real, harsh motorcyclists, this is hardly quoted, because there is no special physics here, and making all kinds of tricks in jumping on motorcycles is a pointless exercise, especially since in order to win you still need to rely on the evaluation of some kind of jury. In general, fun, but not realistic, alas.

DriveClub Bikes

Despite the fact that this game made it to our hit parade, it cannot be considered a full-fledged, separate project, since we have before us nothing more than an addition to the PlayStation 4 exclusive car DriveClub, which for some time has ceased to be considered only a car game. DriveClub Bikes, in our opinion, has two distinctive features: good and not so good. The good news is that the bikes in this game are incredibly believable. It’s impossible to say for sure, but it seems that at the moment there is no game where motorcycle models would be so beautiful. Well, as for the second feature, the whole point is that how beautiful this game is, how unrealistic the physics is. With physics, it’s not that trouble, but it’s not good either: the control and behavior of motorcycles is not always natural. This is especially evident when it comes to collisions.

MX vs ATV Reflex

Little is known about this game, which was released in 2010, but its developers revealed at that time three revelations at once. Firstly, the picture at that time was phenomenally beautiful. Even today, when watching a gameplay video, especially in the first person, you catch yourself thinking that in some places the graphics are almost photorealistic. Secondly, here, it seems, for the first time it was indicated that the motorcycle racer is not glued with his ass to the saddle, but he can help with the whole body in driving the motorcycle. Well, and thirdly, races over rough, open terrain were implemented here with high quality, which at that time was also a serious bid for success. In general, definitely a good motorcycle simulator for computers that do not pull modern games.

Superbike 2001

We can already imagine how some grimaced at the number 2001. Say, another ancient game that was played when the last generation of gamers did not even exist in the project. In fact, this motorcycle simulator turned out to be extremely high quality. It was one of the rare EA Sports motorcycle racing games that managed to make a game that is still considered by many to be the best motorcycle racing game of all time. Also, surprisingly, the game looks pretty good, even today. The romance of the early 2000s did not yet imply the presence in games of this genre of endless cutscenes, an open city where you need to take quests, and a teenage plot. This nonsense was not, but there was a sense of speed and intrigue. It’s very nice, you know, it was to be the first to the finish line,

Moto Racer

This racing series has existed since 1997. The game began as something with a claim to realism, but over time it slipped into a perfect arcade game, almost a motorcycle racing in the style of the movie Tron. In particular, the last, fourth part, released in November 2016, purely in physics, is more like a game for mobile devices than for a PC, but the races continue to be fun and dynamic, so the game is in demand, although breaking the record of the first – the most successful parts – she is unlikely to be destined, despite the presence of two modes: off-road driving and on asphalt roads. Naturally, on different types of motorcycles.

SBK 2011

This game can not be called a masterpiece of the genre. It was never tried by PC gamers, and it received not the highest ratings from console players. However, in 2011, despite the modest capabilities of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game looked and played. Not bad, even by today’s times, the graphics were supported by a very difficult gameplay. The races here turned out to be difficult and demanding for the performers. The game was somewhat crippled by the imminent release of a new generation of consoles, and, most annoyingly, poor-quality, monotonous sound, which was later remade in Milestone by releasing updates. However, our material would not be complete without SBK: Superbike World Championship.

MotoGP

This series began in 2000. Since then, 13 parts have been released. Some were better, some worse. For example, the last MotoGP 2015 is considered the most technically perfect, but we personally remember the part dedicated to the 2010 season the most, which turned out even better than the 2008 part. , especially if you turn off all the auxiliary systems that make the game easier. Then you will have a rather harsh motorcycle simulator in front of you, perfectly conveying the grip of tires with the track during emergency braking, slopes when entering tight turns, and, of course, a sense of speed when the speedometer is over 300 km / h.

Tourist Trophy

Like DriveClub Bikes, this game is not considered a separate project, but an addition that Polyphony Digital decided to diversify Gran Turismo. As a result, it turned out quite well: 12 brands represented by 132 motorcycles looked weighty in 2006. On the same Metacritic, for example, this project has almost the highest marks among the representatives of the genre, despite the modest capabilities of the PlayStation 2. The game was distinguished by great attention to various motorcycle details and high-quality models. But in terms of physics, there was a flaw, due to which the motorcycles felt and controlled the same way as the cars from DriveClub. But, many still regret that the Tourist Trophy never became a separate game.

These were all the most significant representatives of the motorcycle racing simulator genre that we have chosen for the period from 1997 to the present day. Perhaps you have comments and suggestions, as well as your own personal candidates. If so, we will be glad to see you in the comments. Well, that’s all. Play only good games and don’t let anyone walk away beaten.
